When you think of a powerful person, who comes to mind? Take a second. Why are they powerful? Is it a title or position? The amount of money they make? Their influence? Control? With that in mind, how do you think the Bible describes God’s power?
God is a “father to the fatherless, a defender of widows” (Psalm 68:5). God’s greatness doesn’t make Him distant from vulnerable people. His power moves toward them. His strength becomes their protection. His authority cares for them. God’s strength is revealed in how He cares for the vulnerable.
Do you feel unseen? God sees you. Do you know anyone lonely? God is close. One of the ways you can experience God today is by joining Him in what He already cares about. Let’s pray together that we might reflect God’s heart for the vulnerable.
