Jesus often connects love for God with love for people. In other words, you can’t love one without the other. How good are you at loving people? Hungry people. Lonely people. Sick people. Forgotten people.
In Matthew 25, Jesus says, “Whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matt. 25:40). Add this to some of the shocking things Jesus said. Jesus identifies Himself with people others may overlook.
Before you move too quickly through today, pause and ask yourself: “Where might Jesus be inviting me to meet Him?”
It could be in the person who needs a visit or phone call.
The person who needs to be noticed and treated with dignity.
You’re not just doing something nice. You might just be meeting with Jesus there. If you want to join Jesus in loving someone today, pray with us.
