From the very beginning, God has made it clear: God wants to be close with His people. He doesn’t want to be known from a distance or be known as an uninvolved Heavenly Father. He wants to dwell with us.
In Exodus, God gives instructions for the tabernacle. This was a place where His presence would be among them. “Then have them make me a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.” Exodus 25:8. That word “dwell” matters.
To dwell means to stay. God’s presence doesn’t visit occasionally or come and go. He chooses to stay close, and that desire is true for you today. God wants to be close to you.
