We spend a lot of time trying to figure out the next best move. Which step of faith do I take? Where is God leading me? What is His plan for my life? Big questions that might lead to big anxiety… and probably not a lot of movement…
Proverbs reminds us, “in their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9. So is planning wrong?
Planning isn’t wrong until you take control from God. What does planning look like for you? Is it listening, following, and trusting? Or is it forced, hurried, and selfish? God is ultimately the One who establishes your steps.
So, yes, plan. But be open to God guiding and redirecting your steps. Allow Him to open or close doors in ways you may not be expecting in the moment. You may not have full clarity, but you aren’t without direction.
