There are just some things in life that are too big for us. Problems too complicated. Jobs too big. Joshua realized this when he was supposed to lead an entire nation into a new land that he’d never conquered or even been to before. When Joshua realized this was too big for him, God spoke. If you’re facing something too big for you, hear this promise that God spoke to Joshua.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
If you’re willing to try something new, try sitting or standing up straight right where you are. Roll your shoulders back and say this out loud: “I am strong and courageous, because God is with me.” Sometimes courage starts in the body before it catches up to your heart.
What is in front of you today? Is there anything you’ve been avoiding? Something too big for you? Maybe that awareness of it being too big is a great place to be. You don’t need to walk into it with confidence in yourself. You can be confident in the presence of God because He is with you wherever you go.
