Have you ever heard that phrase, “follow the light!” It’s usually in some end-of-life scenario and it’s kind of confusing…do I go toward the light? Away from the light? It makes for some entertaining TV but being in the dark and not really knowing what to do or where to go can be scary. Lonely. Confusing. You might feel like you’re in the dark right now with an uncertain decision. In these moments, it’s tempting to follow whatever seems to light the way, even if it’s unreliable.
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12. Now, think about that thing in your life that feels most unclear right now. The fear, the decision, the uncertainty. Now, imagine Jesus entering into that with you. His light entering that exact space.
With Jesus, you have enough light to take that next step. What’s one step His light is showing you, even if it’s small? Here’s your one thought: you don’t have to navigate life in the dark. Jesus is the light you can follow.
