Guilt overstays its welcome. Time passes. You try to move on. You tell yourself that it shouldn’t matter anymore… but the guilt replays in your mind.
In Luke 5, a paralyzed man is brought to Jesus. He can’t walk, and his friends want Jesus to heal the obvious problem at hand. But Jesus looked at him and said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
Jesus went on to eventually heal this man’s legs, but those first words reveal something about Jesus. He cares about the deeper things. He deals with what’s underneath, not just what’s visible.
Jesus’ forgiveness lasts forever. Only Jesus has this kind of authority, and thankfully, He chooses to forgive us, completely. If guilt is weighing on you, bring it to Jesus and pray this with us:
