God promises to give you wisdom if you ask

We all face moments where we don’t know what to do next. You’re not crazy if you’re confused. In the sea of options, pressures, and opinions, it’s easy to feel lost. Proverbs reminds us where wisdom to make the best choice comes from.

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6.

Wisdom isn’t something that you manufacture or more information. Wisdom looks like direction, discernment, and clarity. These are things that come from God, and He promises to give you wisdom if you seek Him. He is not silent. If you want to ask God for wisdom today, we have a prayer for you below:

A Prayer for Wisdom

God, I need your wisdom with ________.

You see what I can’t

I’m asking for your direction, discernment, and clarity.

Please make my next step so clear

Please help me listen for Your voice today.

Amen.

  • God is Your Home

    Anxiety, Feeling Alone, Feeling Lost

Everyone is looking for belonging. A place to be secure and safe. This kind of place where you look forward to being there. This is what home should feel like.

But in a world of instability, this “home” feels lost or constantly shifting. Home can feel like a moving target. Perhaps a homesick Moses writes in Psalm 90:1, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.”

God is your true home in every season. Circumstances change. Seasons shift. But God remains. You can return to him to find rest and stability. In Him, you are home. If you want to rest in God today, pray with us through the prayer below:

Lord, you have been our dwelling place
  • Jesus brings light to your confusion

    Feeling Alone, Feeling Lost

Have you ever tried to walk through a dark room? You slow down, second-guess every step. You might reach out and just hope you don’t run into something. That’s what life can feel like sometimes.

Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Darkness can’t argue with light. Light overcomes darkness every single time. Jesus makes a way forward for you. When you follow Him, you don’t have to guess your way through life or live like you’re walking through a dark room.

Here’s your one thought: Jesus brings light where there is confusion. If you want to walk in His light and pray through this, we have a guided prayer for you at…

Jesus will always bring light where there is darkness
  • God is worth waiting for

Anxiety, Feeling Alone, Feeling Lost, Trusting God

Waiting can seem unproductive. In today’s culture, movement, progress, and resolution mean so much. But don’t be surprised if your life with God includes waiting. But maybe this kind of waiting can be productive.

Lamentations 3 says, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him. (Lamentations 3:24-25)

Waiting with God looks like choosing to believe that He is still good, still working, and still worth trusting even before you see an answer to your prayers. Waiting with God isn’t boring or useless. It’s actively trusting Him. Waiting on God is never wasted.

If you want to trust God in the waiting, pray with us through the prayer below:

Waiting on God is never wasted
  • Jesus is worth rearranging your life

Feeling Lost, Looking for a Change, Trusting God

The first disciples left behind so much when they heard Jesus say three simple words. “Come, follow me.”

They left behind jobs, routines, and any sense of familiarity. Why? Because something about Jesus was worth rearranging their lives for.

He still is. Is there anything Jesus is asking you to leave behind? How has your life been rearranged by Jesus? Following Jesus is worth leaving lesser things behind.

Respond to today’s One Thought with the pray below:

    Follow Jesus!
  • God is your guide

    Feeling Lost, Trusting God

Is God personal to you? One of the most personal pictures of Him in scripture is that of a shepherd.

“He tends his flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart…” Isaiah 40:11.

Shepherds know how to lead, protect, and care. God, as your shepherd, is not careless with your life. He wants to lead you in the right direction and does so with wisdom and care.

If you’re praying about which direction to go in life, can we give you another prayer? Keep reading:

God wants to lead you in the right direction.
  • God Guides You One Step at a Time

    Feeling Lost, Trusting God

You’re not alone if you want God to give you more clarity.  Life might be a lot easier if you had every detail explained, every outcome guaranteed, every step mapped out.

But when God led His people through the wilderness, He didn’t give them a full map. “By day, the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them….” Exodus 13:21

While we can’t guarantee God giving us the whole picture, we can be sure that He’ll guide us where to go next. His presence leads us, and we’ll never be alone on this journey. When we lean on God’s presence, we can be thankful that He leads us one step at a time.

  • Jesus sends you with purpose

    Feeling Lost, Trusting God

If you experienced Jesus personally, it would make sense that you would want to stay glued to his side. This happened in Mark 5 when Jesus healed a man, and the man didn’t want to leave, but Jesus told him…

“Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.” Mark 5:19

This isn’t Jesus shaking off old news. This is Jesus giving purpose to a man. We all need purpose, don’t we?

Purpose is hardwired in us. We long for it and try to find it everywhere, but Jesus gives us a lasting purpose that impacts us and everyone around us. Your story, your growth, and your faith are meant to point others to what God has done.

You don’t have to have all the answers. You just need to be willing to go and share what’s real. Jesus sends you with what He’s doing in you. If you’re wondering who God might be sending you to, we have a prayer that might help right here:

    Jesus sends you to others
